but you are sooo right. only in the south. i've been doing a new crazy sign every week on my side bar. it is hysterical to see what people think is good or entertaining up on signs. (at least i think it is.)
how are you??? i hear you have been extremely busy as well... how 'bout the p&g FINALLY coming back to the blogging world. woot woot.
I love me some friend bologna! No clue why (especially knowing how it's made and how rotten it is for your body.) However, very few places have it on menu (and I've never seen it at a drive-in).
Now streak-o-lean...that's something I don't understand!
What! Never had a fried bologna sandwich??? You are missing out! Now one thing I had never heard before here in the south was in Sweet Home Alabama when the dad told the mom to get the bologna cake out of the freezer...
Once on Oprah.. Tim Mc Graw & Faith Hill ate one at a gas station near their house. They made it look good... I am more of a BLT girl. Now a BLT with fresh tomatoes from the garden..that's a good thing!!!! xxxx me
i know it sounds gross, but fried bologna is good. i've never had it on a biscuit, but i like mine a little burnt around the edges. i eat it probably once a year
Oh, you don't know what you are missing! Fried Bologna sandwiches with miracle whip, mustard and cheese are the Best! It's been years since I've had one, but don't knock it til you've tried it!!!! .... and as Elizabeth said- burnt around the edges! Yum!
Okay I hate to admit that I occasionally crave bologna. Reminds me of a childhood friends's mom who use to make us sandwiches. I know, I know...*lowering head in shame*
Ok..I'll admit it, I've had cold bologna sandwiches for years...never fried...but then, I'm a transplanted to the south EX YANKEE,what do I know? :-)
I'm baffled by the newest rage for 'fair foods'..deep fried butter?!!! sticks of BUTTER? oh...I feel a heart attack comin' on. What ever happened to candy apples?!
Oh, and while I'm at it...Bacon is a biggie on the west coast. Bars are serving it the way they used to put salted peanuts out there to nibble. Freebie cholesterol boosters, I guess.
barf! todd and i kept talking about this on our way back from the beach. disgusting!
ReplyDeleteYeah, bologna has always seemed gross to me too! (I am from NC)
ReplyDeleteyuck!

ReplyDeleteHahaha! I think I might have to swipe that picture, make it black and white and hang it in my studio.
ReplyDeleteBTW, do they have deep fried twinkies in the South?
