Care to ohh and ahh over Edith Wharton's house and gardens?
In the PBS show, Moment of Luxury, designer Bill Stubbs takes a trip near Lenox, MA to the author and designer's legendary house. Unfortunately, my PBS station does not carry this program. Thankfully, there's the internet!

Believe it or not, there is an Edith Wharton blog:

This is my kind of reality television!
Brew a fresh pot of coffee or tea and sit back and enjoy:
(Mr. Stubbs, don't you want a Southern perspective on your show? I wouldn't mind tagging along. We'd have a glorious time, I promise!)
Thank you for a look into this great show. Edith Wharton's home is one I could never see too much, so this was a real delight. Hope your weekend was great?
ReplyDeleteI was smitten by Ms. Wharton after reading "On the Decoration of Houses." I saw the piece on PBS a few months ago and loved it. Wouldn't life have been grand? I didn't realize there was a blog, I'll have to head on over there...Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeletewow! the gardens are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust watched the show and enjoyed so much. As a young girl, I devoured her books and learned so much about american society (had no idea then, that I would be part of that world too...) So refreshing to hear that she escaped the newport society, after 10 years, my husband and I did just the same...who needs etiquette and social rules, especially in the summer... and so thrilled that she loved the french! !Her gardens are so magnificent and her home aboslutely spectacular
ReplyDeleteI have never been there and would absolutely love to go sometime. The gardens look glorious!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, I love gardens and home interiors too. I think you may enjoy The House In Good Taste By Elsie de Wolfe.
