Anyone care to join me for a leisurely chat in this room? This sofa is so inviting. Doesn't this sitting area look so comfortable and inviting? Wouldn't you know it--it is in the home of Oprah's hair stylist--and now designer/decorator.
The entire grouping is put together quite well, in my opinion. Although, I like things to be a bit calmer--no wallpaper or fringed sofa apron. I do think that overall, for a new installation, the room appears "collected" as if it had been assembled over time.
Is this a room for you? Do you want or have a "gallery" wall--or is that too busy for your taste?

ReplyDeleteYes to everything you said. I adore the wall gallery (ponies! puppies!) and the coziness, but it is just too busy for my taste otherwise. I'd take down the plates & get a simpler, un-fringed sofa, for starters.

ReplyDeleteI love gallery walls and think they are a fantastic use of space and art or photos, but, we don't have one. We have this perfect wall in our living room, but, it's currently housing a large 16x20 photo that my mom took of the Grand Tetons, and I just cannot bring myself to move it. I have considered doing the entire wall with smaller rustic, mountain photos (my house kind of has a rustic feel to it on the inside), but, it hasn't happened yet... Maybe that's a summer goal... Hm...

I love it however I would do a grouping of larger works of art, probably a focal center original on canvas and then two others flanking it.
