Advent is Here!

Today is the first Sunday of the Advent season.  It's a wonderful time of anticipation for the celebration of Christmas.  We always try to make our own wreath for the kitchen or dining room table.  Do you have an advent wreath in your home?

Also, I came across the Advent Conspiracy" several days ago.  It's my understanding that the organization that produced this video is promoting clean water.  The message sent is a great one.  Please watch and consider your attitude in readying yourself for Christmas.

I can't wait to hear about what you are doing to prepare yourself for the great season that is upon us.  Do you have special china that you save just for the holidays?  What about family traditions of hanging your stockings?   Any movies that you just have to watch?  Food you must eat?  Tell me all about it.

  1. I cannot wait for Christmas! It is my favorite time of year. I have a special set of holiday china, Bernardaud Grenadiers. I also love going to see the light and watching Christmas movies.

  2. My family goes out and picks up our christmas tree from the farm. That night we blast classical christmas carols on the stereo and adorn the tree with tinsel garland and my mother's treasured bulbs. When its over, we all grab a glass of chilled eggnog and sit in the great room, gazing into our lighted creation.

    I cannot wait.

  3. We make cookies to give, we decorate, have a creche that my son loves to put out. We hang stockings, put up a tree, and garland with lights. We do have an advent wreath and calendar!
We attend a Christmas party on Christmas eve in a Victorian Home that is full of spirit! We attended the "Nutcracker" yesterday and try to get into the city to see "The TREE" and all the decorations.
White China with different linens. I love fresh greenery and holiday cuisine.

  4. Well, this will be my first Christmas actually having to decorate. We usually put up a few candles and a snowman or two because we head home in mid December. This year, the family is coming to us and I don't have anything! My dad is going to try and send me my mom's Christmas decorations, so, we'll see. Although, I ALWAYS get a new pair of Christmas PJs to wear, and we have to watch Christmas Vacation. I used to watch Little Women with my mother, but, I'm not ready to watch it without her yet... Maybe next year... I love the holidays!
