Christmas Cards

I hate to skip over Thanksgiving in any way, but this is what I'm thinking about...
Have you already purchased your cards?  Are you going the hand-made route?  Do you always do a picture card?  What are your traditions and new ideas?  I'd love hearing all about them.

  1. I bought my cards last summer from Crane & Co. I love my cards! I don't do the handmade route because it is just too time consuming. I do love crafty things, but not the card making craft... I did one 'fun' style and one religious from Crane.

  2. Since our daughter's birth two years ago, we've done photo cards. I usually take a photo of her, design a card around it, have it printed, and off it goes.

For her first Christmas, the photo was of her on a black backdrop, gazing in wonder at Christmas lights. Last year, I dressed her in a Tom Arma snowman costume. :) This year, we borrowed a very nice Santa suit from a friend, and I plan to dress the hubby in it and take some pics of Meredith with him as Santa. We also just got a dog today, so I may see if I can coax him into participating...

  3. These cards are so pretty and look very much like Crane creations! I bought my cards last December on super sale. I am hoping for roomie and I to get a fabulous photo in PHL or the city. My mother bought William Arthur cards for us to send out and for that card we are using a photo I had taken in Paris.

  4. Crane's holidays cards are just gorgeous! I am not sure if you are near a Swoozies, but they are offering 30% off right now. I can forward you the email if you would like.

I hope you have a nice week!

  5. We always do a photo card. (well, we have since J was born) Just of the boys of course, everyone knows what we look like :) I have them - thanks to Kappa Prep for the Boatman Gellar site. I have them signed and am awaiting the arrival of my photos to stick on. We also do a brief letter to out of town family and a few friends.

  6. I love picture cards, I think it is so fun to see peoples' cards that I don't get to see that often. I think you inspired me to do one!!!

  7. These are lovely cards! I have struggled this year to find any - I usually buy different cards for different groups of friends and family - some religious, some not, some more expensive tha others, some for children etc... It's a two day extravaganza of card writing! All done using a fountain pen and dipping ink!
