Make Believe House for No.100!

Join me, won't you, as we go on a bit of a fantasy trip to GSG's land of make believe.  Here are some of my favorite design inspirations, magically combined into one!

Welcome to our home...

Photo: Antoine Bootz and Jeff McNamara, we adore your work Cathy Kincade--she did the first two pictures.  This is not all the same house.

I'm so glad that you were able to make it.  Let me show you around a bit.  Here's the dining room.    We'll have dinner at eight, will that work for you?

Let's take a short cut to the kitchen through the butler's pantry.

Now, for one of my favorite rooms in the house.  The kitchen:

Why don't we just sit for a while and talk.  I'd really like to get to know you better.

Here's the master bedroom.

Here's your room.  I hope you like it.  If you need anything, just let me know.

Why don't you just tour around in the gardens while I get some of my writing done.

Thank you so much, blog friends.  You have become such a part of my life!  You'll never know how much pleasure I get from your kind comments and emails.  You all are the reason I make up silly fantasy posts like this one!  Thank you for making my 100th post so much fun!

  1. Ah!! I CANNOT believe you choose a house done by Cathy Kincaid!! I know her personally and work with her. In fact, I might just be seeing her today! Her work is wonderful and so very traditional. She herself is also so kind and fun. Wonderful post and HUGE CONGRATS on 100!!

  3. Wow, wow, wow! Your dream house has incorporated some of my very favorite rooms all together in one house. Congratulations on 100 great posts. I look forward to many more.

Kappa, is this one whole house done by the fabulous Cathy Kincaid? This is the first I have seen a picture of that gorgeous master bedroom. I've seen the fireplace but not the whole room together. I'ma a huge fan of hers

  5. congrats!! i love that butler's pantry. thanks for your comment today, too. i've often wondered about how white countertops "live." i really don't think it would work with my family/husband...i'd become a worry ninny about stains and that just is not fun! but it's sure pretty! =)

  14. Congratulations on your 100th post. These pictures are beautiful. If you ever get an "office for a female with the same taste above, bug", please let me know. I am trying to be inspired to finish my office--love your choices and you probably have good files. Want sophisticated, not too pottery barnish. LOVE PPPG

  17. I love your dream home! I create a 'virtual home' on my blog every January to see how my taste has changed, or perhaps more accuately, to reflect how many new amazing pictures I have found that are even more 'me'! It is a great exercise. I love your dining room and guest bedroom, and of course that kitchen....the kitchen is in a house that belonged to a friend of my sister (she has since moved).

I am so impressed you tracked down all of the photographer names.

p.s. The entry - I believe that was a Southern Accents Show Home, My husband (the builder) and I redesigned the plan a little but the entry remained the same. A GORGEOUS HOUSE!
